Automakers and Android have paired together to make sure that the drive is even safer. It's no secret that drivers are often distracted by their phones, whether one is tempted to answer (or send) a text or to type in an address to get directions. Now, automakers are offering Android Auto as a part of the vehicle's software interface to help mitigate this issue.

Drivers can use Android Auto's voice-activated commands to carry out a number of tasks. Need to send an important text to a family member? Simply call upon Android Auto to access your contact list, speak the text, and Android takes care of the rest. Drivers never need to take their eyes from the road when carrying out these tasks.

Android Auto also puts apps on the vehicle's display, so drivers may access maps, music, and so much more. In fact, drivers may call up a podcast for the daily commute.
